This is a direct result from high winds and excessive amounts of brush. This is a church that was totally destroyed. While it did suffer from some burns, the home next door thankfully was not destroyed. Notice the brush on the front and rear of the home.

This shows what happens when we remove fire from our practices in forest management. The timber in these photos was a total loss. This could have been prevented if the hazardous fuels were removed prior to the fire.

For private land owners and the major companies who look at their timber land as a investment, consideration should be given to having pre-suppression fire lines put around the property and through different sections of timber stands for back burn purposes.

These new superfires can totally erase your future earning potential from timber sales and bring the value of your property down to a fraction of its value in a few hours. Fire also consumes many homes and businesses that are in the path.
